I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair met personally to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, consistently making huge paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the usual face-off, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is truly proceeding.
